Field Support Technician

Generator Source is looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined *Field Support Technician* to join our External Service team in Brighton, Colorado. This is a hands-on position supporting our experienced generator technicians and rental operations in the field. You’ll help keep technicians productive and equipment moving by delivering generators, fuel, parts and supplies, assisting with preventive maintenance, supporting rental equipment, and helping prepare and retrieve equipment from customer and job sites. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, wants to learn industrial generators and diesel equipment, and is looking to build a career in field service. *What You’ll Do* * Support experienced generator technicians with preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs and field projects * Assist with oil and filter changes, fluid checks, cleaning and basic maintenance * Deliver and pick up rental generators, cables, equipment and accessories * Deliver fuel to generators at customer and job sites * Transport parts, tools, fluids and supplies to keep field technicians productive * Load, secure, transport and unload generators and equipment * Inspect rental equipment for damage, missing components, fuel levels, hours, leaks and general condition * Prepare, clean and stage generators for rental and field deployment * Roll out, retrieve, organize and store electrical cable * Complete parts runs and deliver generator fluid samples for testing * Maintain accurate fuel, rental, delivery, inspection and equipment-movement records * Help maintain clean, organized and safe service, shop and yard areas * Communicate professionally with customers, technicians, vendors and coworkers * Follow all company safety, driving, fuel-handling and equipment procedures *What We’re Looking For* * Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record * Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools * Dependable attendance and punctuality * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions * Comfortable working around trucks, trailers, generators, fuel, oil and industrial equipment * Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs. * Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in changing Colorado weather * Ability to complete basic paperwork and electronic documentation * Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays or on-call assignments when business needs require * Most importantly, a willingness to *learn* *Experience That’s a Plus* Previous experience is helpful, but *not required*, in areas such as: * Diesel engines or generators * Automotive or mechanical work * Construction or industrial work * Equipment rental * Delivery or fleet operations * Towing trailers or transporting equipment * Forklift or telehandler operation * Fuel handling * Preventive maintenance *Opportunity to Learn & Grow* This position is designed to build foundational experience in *commercial and industrial generators, rental equipment, preventive maintenance, field service and equipment operations.* You’ll work alongside experienced Generator Source technicians while developing the mechanical, safety and field-service skills needed to grow within the organization. *About Generator Source* Generator Source specializes in commercial and industrial generator equipment, service and rental support.
