Stocker / Cashier

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cashier/Stocker to join our team in a fast-paced grocery store environment. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service while efficiently managing transactions and maintaining product availability on the sales floor. Responsibilities Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently. Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, product selections, and resolving any issues. Stock shelves and ensure that products are displayed attractively and organized according to merchandising standards. Perform product demonstrations to engage customers and promote sales of featured items. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and stockroom. Assist in supervising junior staff members, providing guidance on best practices in customer service and sales techniques. Engage in upselling techniques to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales. Utilize basic math skills for cash handling, ensuring accurate cash drawer management throughout shifts. Skills Proficient in cashiering with experience using POS systems. Strong background in retail sales, including merchandising and stocking practices. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and phone etiquette. Ability to perform basic math calculations for retail math applications. Experience with product demos to effectively showcase items to customers. Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse clientele. Previous supervisory experience is beneficial for guiding team members effectively.
