Job TypeFull-time, Part-timeDescriptionIn the role of Groundskeeper, you will be responsible for supporting the Facilities Director in maintaining the overall appearance and upkeep of outdoor areas within the Academy Mapleton Hill (AMH) community. To perform well in this role, you should have previous experience in grounds keeping and knowledge about the care and maintenance of plants and outdoor spaces. responsible for supporting the Facilities Director in maintaining all landscaping and grounds maintenance associated with the community.ResponsibilitiesMow, edge and trim lawns and landscaped areasPlant, maintain, and remove plants, flowers, and treesWater and fertilize lawns and landscaped areasPrune and shape bushes and treesRemove debris and litter from groundsOperate and maintain grounds keeping equipment and toolsPerform irrigation repairs and adjustmentsPrepare and maintain flower beds and gardens seasonallyRepair and maintain hardscapes, walls, walkway and other structures on the groundsRemove snow and ice from walkways and roads within the community (shovel and/or plow)Keeping detailed records of maintenance schedules and tasks completedCommunicate with supervisors and co-workers to coordinate and prioritize daily tasks QualificationsFamiliarity with grounds keeping equipment and toolsPhysical stamina and strength, able to lift and carry heavy loadsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to work in varying weather conditionsPossess a valid driving licenseStrong knowledge of safety procedures and use of personal protective equipmentAbility to work flexible hours, and occasional holidays, as requiredAbility to work on call and be available for emergency repairsEffective verbal and written communicationExcellent interpersonal skillsHonesty, integrity, sense of humor, and pleasant demeanor - ability to stay calm under pressureEmpathy toward the elderly and to geriatric issues and challenges Education and ExperienceProven experience working as a groundskeeper or similar roleKnowledge of basic horticulture practices and principlesHigh school diploma or equivalentFluency in both English and SpanishSalary Description
