Position DetailsPosition Information Working TitleSports Center LifeguardPosition StatusPart TimeDepartmentCommunity Recreation/Sports CenterGeneral SummarySupervise pool operations to ensure the safety of all members and guests, while maintaining cleanliness of the indoor pool and outdoor pool deck. Specific Position DutiesOpen and close the pool daily in accordance with established schedules and operating hours Maintain proper chemical levels through routine testing and treatment Continuously monitor pool activities during shifts to identify and address safety concerns Clear the pool promptly during hazardous or unsafe conditions Monitor weather conditions closely to ensure guest safety Organize, coordinate, and supervise pool parties and special events Provide swimming instruction and swim team coaching as available Ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained pool and surrounding area Assist patrons as needed in a courteous and professional manner Perform additional duties as assigned Minimum QualificationsCurrent lifeguard certification or the ability to obtain American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification prior to start date. Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment, in-water practical skills assessment.
