GEO Academies students have the opportunity to earn a full college degree or career credential even before graduating from high school - at no cost to families.REPORTS TO/TERM:Regional Director of Exceptional Student ServicesThis is a Full-Time 10-month position (Training in July)A Special Education Self-contained Teacher will perform the following duties:Maintain student Service LogsCreate and modify student lessonsKeep daily Service LogsConduct small group lessonsProvide individual student servicesMainstream students into General Education classroomsCollaborate with classroom teachersProvide services to students as outlined in IEPWrite Effective IEPsMeet all deadlinesMonitor progressMaintain updated Service ScheduleMaintain updated caseload listsProvide Accommodations\ModificationsParental contacts w/documentationFacilitate academic testingFacilitate statewide testingCommunicate suspensionsAttend all required staff meetingsFile state documents in Special Education file and officeOther functions assigned by supervisorFollow all school policiesRequirementsESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS* A Bachelor's degree or higher with at least 24 credit hours in content area
