About the Role:
The role of CAD Designer is responsible for interpreting field notes to create work prints using AutoCAD for placement of fiber optic cable lines as well as preparing the work prints for the permitting process.

Key Responsibilities:
Proficiency in AutoCAD, base-mapping, GIS and layering, fundamental knowledge of Outside Plant, conduit and cable design for fiber optics, hand holes, Make-Ready Engineering, and poles (aerial and underground).
Interact with the local municipalities, engineers, and construction/maintenance employees to acquire records, Assessor Maps, map info, AIS, and Construction Prints
Complete project responsibilities within scope and schedule
Review drawings for completeness and accuracy
Maintain all revisions of project drawings • Update and maintain drafting log • Develop 3D models by analyzing prototypes and 2D drawings • Examine and check engineering drawings for compliance with cited specifications • Complete Site surveys • Translating field notes to develop and update conduit/ cable engineering design drawings in AutoCAD.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Key Qualifications:
HSD, or equivalent education, is required.
1-2 years’ experience working as CAD Drafter and/or similar role.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written.
Knowledge of AutoCAD 2019 +, AutoCAD Map 3D, Vetro drafting a plus.
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
Knowledge of online mapping software ex. Beacon, elevate, Google Maps.
Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing work environment.
Thorough understanding, public right-of-way, private easements, existing utilities such as water, sewer, electric, gas, and other underground and aerial utilities
Knowledgeable in city, county, state, and local municipalities’ encroachment permits, Traffic Control, easement right away, and various environmental permits are highly desired.
