We are seeking a highly organized, execution-driven Product Development Associate with strong textile knowledge and hands-on experience managing soft goods development from concept through production.This role is ideal for someone who understands fabrics, a variety of fabrication and construction techniques, and finishes, and who excels at managing timelines, vendors, specifications, and approvals. Rather than focusing on designing products, this role ensures that products are developed accurately, efficiently, and to our quality and brand standards. You will serve as a key operational partner to our designers, sourcing team, and vendors, owning the day-to-day management of textile development.Who We Are:Founded in 2014, Studio McGee, Inc. is one of the fastest growing home design brands in America. Key Responsibilities:Product Development & Program ManagementOwn and manage the end-to-end development process for assigned textile and soft goods categoriesProvide print and pattern support to the hardgoods category when neededBuild and maintain detailed development calendars, trackers, and milestone schedules that align with the milestone dates of the seasonal development calendarDrive projects forward by proactively managing deadlines, dependencies, and approvalsCoordinate cross-functional handoffs between Design, Sourcing, Merchandising, QA, and OperationsIdentify risks, delays, or quality issues early and escalate with solutionsTextile & Material OversightEvaluate fabrics for construction, durability, hand-feel, and performanceReview lab dips, strike-offs, handlooms, and production samples for accuracy to approved standardsValidate that patterns, colors, finishes, and constructions meet specificationsPartner with sourcing to identify and qualify mills and vendorsSupport fabric testing, compliance, and performance requirementsVendor & Production ManagementManage day-to-day communication with domestic and international vendorsIssue and track specifications, tech packs, and development requestsEnsure vendors understand quality, cost, and timeline expectationsReview TOP samples and pre-production samples for consistency and accuracyResolve production issues in partnership with sourcing and QASystems, Documentation & ReportingMaintain accurate product data in internal systemsManage SKUs, BOMs, specs, and cost filesTrack samples, approvals, and revisionsPrepare status reports and development summaries for leadershipSample & Warehouse CoordinationOversee physical samples housed at the Draper Visual WarehouseCoordinate sample intake, storage, and distributionEnsure samples are available for reviews, shoots, and launchesPartner with Visual Styling and Creative teams on sample needsWhat You'll Bring:3-5+ years of experience in textile product development, working in a cross-functional environment, and soft goods manufacturingHands-on experience managing development for bedding, bath, rugs, pillows, or similar categoriesStrong working knowledge of fibers, weaves, constructions, and finishesAbility to distinguish and evaluate fabric quality, patterns, and color accuracyExperience managing complex timelines and SKU-heavy assortmentsProven ability to drive execution and close open issuesHighly organized, detail-oriented, and process-drivenStrong written and verbal communication skillsComfortable working in Excel and Google WorkspaceConfident working with overseas vendors and factoriesProblem-solver with strong follow-throughWork Environment & Location:This role is based at our Draper, Utah Visual Warehouse and Headquarters. Due to the hands-on nature of managing physical samples and collaborating cross-functionally, this position requires regular in-person presence.
