Pediatric Cardiac ICU ProviderThe Pediatric Cardiac ICU provider will be working with a multidisciplinary team within the UT Southwestern Pediatric Critical Care/Cardiology division at Children's Hospital in Dallas to provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients on our inpatient pediatric cardiac intensive care unit. These patients present with a wide variety of congenital and acquired heart disease. This position will require a high degree of critical thinking and clinical expertise in working with pediatric patients in the cardiac intensive care unit. The APP is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, consultation, and health promotion and care coordination for patients and their families. Salary is $120,000+ annually! Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population. OR Graduate of a Master's degree or higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) accredited Physician Assistant program. Licenses/Certifications Licensure as a Pediatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (CPNP-AC) by Texas State Board of Nursing. Authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing. OR Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification required. Licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board (PA-C). AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified by the American Heart Association or Red Cross based on the UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers. Preferred Experience One year of pediatric cardiology inpatient experience with heart failure, pre and post heart transplant and with ventricular assisted devices preferred. Experience with peripheral intravenous lines (PIV), removal of chest tubes, pacing wires, sutures, and with arterial blood gas draws preferred. New grads with previous pediatric cardiac or ICU experience may be considered.
