Automotive Test Technician

Automotive Test Technician As an automotive test technician with Bosch, you will be part of an engineering team to test and validate diagnostic products against the specifications in preparation for product release. In this position you will perform pre-defined tests for a new product currently in development. This testing will be performed on designated vehicles. The test technician is responsible for performing tests per the defined test procedure, record test results, create tickets in an issue database for failures, and report progress. This is a contract position with an estimated duration of 6 months starting in July 2023. Essential Job Responsibilities: Perform test of new products on vehicles. Track and report progress and record pass/fail results. Create issues in Jira issues database when tests fails. Gather data from failed tests and assist engineers in problem analysis. Work with Engineers to analyze failure results. Plan, conduct and deliver test results on time. Other duties as assigned and assignments may extend into other areas with similar skill sets. Minimum Skills and Competencies: SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES/SKILLS: Experience conducting test and repair in vehicles. Familiar with automotive design or manufacture. Working knowledge of OBD II and CAN vehicle communication protocols is preferred. Experience using automotive diagnostics tools. Experience following work orders and test procedures related to shop tools and equipment. Ability to communicate effectively to share the test case results. This position may be offered to a candidate authorized to work in the US for his/her/their stated employer, without any restrictions which would prevent the candidate from working on the proposed assignment for the duration of the assignment period. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum of a 2 year technical degree and 5 years of related product test experience. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Automotive) preferred. Experience with creating test plans and generation of test reports Experience with recording defects in an issues database – Jira is preferred. Certified automotive technician or equivalent experience required.
