Shop Technician

Position Overview:We are seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Shop Technician for a fast-paced oilfield fishing and rental operation. This position is responsible for preparing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing downhole tools and support equipment. The ideal candidate works with urgency, pays attention to detail, and understands the importance of reliability in oilfield operations.Responsibilities:Clean, inspect, redress, and prepare fishing tools and rental equipmentAssemble and disassemble downhole tools (overshots, spears, jars, thru tubing tools etc.)Measure, drift, and verify tool dimensions and tolerancesPressure test and function test equipment when requiredMaintain accurate tool inventory and documentationLoad and unload trucks; prepare equipment for field deliveryOperate forklifts, overhead cranes, and shop equipment safelyPerform basic shop maintenance and keep work area organizedAssist with rush jobs and after-hours call-outs as neededPreferred Experience: Oilfield fishing or downhole tool experience preferredStrong mechanical aptitudeMust be able to lift 50-100 lbs and work in shop conditionsForklift and overhead crane experience preferredValid driver's license requiredMust be reliable and able to work with minimal supervisionFishing & rental shop backgroundTool redress and pressure testing
