Commercial Flooring Estimator
Mill Creek Commercial is seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Flooring Estimator to join our growing team. In this role, you will support our commercial flooring sales and operations teams by producing accurate and competitive estimates for a wide range of flooring and surface preparation projects, including education, healthcare, retail, multi-family, hospitality, and commercial construction projects. Your ability to interpret architectural plans, understand flooring systems, and manage project details will play a critical role in the success of our projects and customer partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze architectural drawings, finish schedules, specifications, and bid documents to create accurate flooring takeoffs and cost estimates.
Estimate a variety of flooring scopes including carpet tile, broadloom carpet, luxury vinyl tile (LVT), sheet vinyl, rubber flooring, ceramic tile, polished concrete, resinous flooring, moisture mitigation, and related surface preparation systems.
Collaborate with sales representatives, project managers, vendors, and customers to ensure complete and competitive proposals.
Use industry-specific software and digital takeoff tools (such as RFMS, Measure, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar platforms) to perform accurate quantity surveys and project estimates.
Review project specifications and identify potential challenges, exclusions, value engineering opportunities, and scope gaps.
Track material pricing, labor trends, and product availability to ensure current and competitive estimates.
Submit bid proposals in a timely and organized manner while meeting customer and internal deadlines.
Assist with project turnover by reviewing awarded jobs with project management and operations teams for accuracy, scheduling, procurement, and installation readiness.
Coordinate with manufacturers, subcontractors, and internal purchasing teams to confirm pricing, lead times, and product substitutions when necessary.
Maintain organized records of estimates, revisions, project correspondence, and bid documentation.
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, general contractors, and internal teams to support long-term project success.
