Blending Manager
On-site | Full-Time | U.S. Work Authorization RequiredPosition SummaryThe Blending Manager is responsible for ensuring the facility has the appropriate high-quality liquid formulations required to support production operations. This role oversees blending processes, tanker offloading, and tank department operations, manages liquid assets, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, product quality, and safety across the facility.Essential ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation, and perform other duties as assigned. Oversee the production of liquid and beverage formulations to support daily manufacturing needs; ensure blending operations are aligned with overall production goals. Oversee all blending operations, including offloading of tanker deliveries, ensuring proper handling, documentation, and storage of incoming liquid materials. Lead and manage the tank department, ensuring proper utilization, sanitation, inventory accuracy, and maintenance of all tanks and related systems. Manage all liquid products throughout the production lifecycle (blending, canning, and bottling); ensure compliance with quality standards, GMP, SQF, and safety requirements. Lead, coach, and develop team members within blending and tank operations. Collaborate with process engineers, maintenance teams, and facility designers to optimize layout and utilization of blending and processing equipment; recommend and support process improvements. Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for blending and tank operations; identify process gaps and implement corrective and preventive actions. Ensure customer formulations meet specifications throughout the blending and production process; support onboarding of new recipes and product lines. Monitor, analyze, and report key performance indicators (KPIs); identify trends and proactively address performance gaps. Partner with supply chain, quality control, and production teams to ensure availability of raw materials and alignment of production schedules. Oversee operation and maintenance of blending and tank equipment, including pasteurizers, chemical skids, and related systems; ensure preventative maintenance is completed. Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations; identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions; participate in safety meetings as required. Meet all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements; participate in food safety meetings as required. Note: This job description is not exhaustive and may evolve over time.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, food science, or a related field Minimum of 5+ years of experience in beverage blending, liquid manufacturing, or related environments (or equivalent combination of education and experience) At least 2 years of experience leading or supervising teams Strong understanding of blending, mixing, and liquid processing equipment Experience with laboratory testing equipment and the ability to interpret and analyze results Working knowledge of data analysis and basic statistical methods Strong project management and organizational skills Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Preferred QualificationsAdditional leadership experience in beverage or food manufacturing Bilingual (Spanish preferred) Work ExpectationsThis is a regular, full-time position with assigned office hours located onsite. The ability to be available for work daily and extended hours as necessary. Work is performed in a warehouse environment, manufacturing plant and occasionally outside in what may be adverse weather conditions. The work environment can involve exposure to heat, cold, humidity, moving machinery, extreme noise, visual strain, confined spaces, fumes, odors, dust mists, and gases. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.This position requires long periods of sitting/driving a forklift, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing and operating machinery.The employee should be able to lift and/or move items up to up to 50+ pounds several times per day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
