Manufacturing Machine Repair TechnicianThis position repairs and rebuilds manufacturing machines and provides mechanical, electrical and technical support and repairs to all areas of the facility.Specific Duties and Responsibilities:Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems related to the production equipmentAs a team member or independently, as required, diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical machinery problemsAbility to work with machinery drawings and specifications, electrical schematics, machine manuals or other forms of assembled dataFabricates needed components as neededDemonstrates proficiencies in pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC, electrical controls, AC/DC drive motors, machine component clearances / fits and an overall understanding machine operation and functionCompletes preventative machine maintenance as assignedMaintains accurate records of equipment repairsCooperation:Professionally communicates / collaborates with all team members and machine set up operators to improve the overall operation of the manufacturing areasFollows guidance and directives, verbal and/or written, provided by the Manufacturing Manager and other Managers in the CompanyPerforms daily responsibilities in coordination with company and departmental work instructionsProvides positive approach to problem solving to minimize machine downtime and prevent reoccurrenceSafety:Follow all safety requirements to avoid injury to self and fellow employees.Create and maintain a safe work environment; repair and/or report non-conformances to company safety policies and guidelinesPerform the necessary safety requirements to avoid injury to self and fellow employeesDemonstrates safe and efficient operating skills of machine shop equipment, such as milling machine, surface grinder, lathes, etc.Physical Demands:Must be able to lift approximately 40 lbs. from floor level to waist, and waist to floor approximately 5 times per hourMust be able to stand approximately 8-10 hrs./dayVisual acuity for detailed workManual dexterityMechanical abilityAble to bend, twist, and squat in sometimes awkward positions for prolonged periods of time while exerting force (pushing or pulling) on hand tools to adjust machineWork Environment:Un-airconditioned, well ventilated manufacturing facilityEducation and Experience Required:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)5 years related experience and/or trainingAbility to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situationsExperience troubleshooting PLCs and Ladder logic.Experience working with Hydraulics, motors and pumps.Fabrications experience preferred.Strong mechanical skills and aptitude.Good verbal communication skills.Ability to read and interpret blueprints or data.Visual acuity for detailed work.An understanding and/or working knowledge of the machines and equipment within the manufacturing areas.Position Type/Expectations of Working Hours:Full time positionRegularly scheduled to work 10 hours a dayMust be able to work Monday - Saturday
