Full-Stack Software Engineer (Volunteer)

We are currently expanding our development team and looking for a passionate Volunteer Full-Stack Software Engineer to join us!About the Role: Our volunteer Full-Stack Software Engineers collaborate with one another to enhance and scale our digital platforms and programs. Technology is the backbone of Transgender.org’s advocacy work, which means each of our developers has the opportunity to make an extraordinary impact! Help us uplift transgender+ individuals worldwide by collaborating on innovative tech solutions that address our community’s most pressing challenges.Key Responsibilities:Transgender.org Website:Help us scale our resource hub to improve accessibility and user experience.Assist in building a robust backend admin panel and CMS that will grow with our organization's needs.AI-Powered Legislation Tracker:Collaborate on the development of our AI-powered legislation tracker (currently in its early stages).In partnership with the Trevor Project and Equality Federation, this groundbreaking tool will completely transform current frameworks to track and analyze LGBTQ legislation in a fraction of the time.Desired Skills and Experience:Proficiency with front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (with TypeScript - required), and React.Experience with back-end development using Node.js and PostgreSQL.Strong understanding of UI/UX principles.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.Experience with building and maintaining CMS platforms is a plus.Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts is a plus.Passion for supporting and advocating for transgender+ rights and inclusion.What We Offer:The chance to work on meaningful projects that have a real impact on the transgender+ community.Collaboration with a dedicated and diverse team of volunteers.Opportunities for professional growth and development while contributing to a cause you care about.Flexible work hours to accommodate your schedule (no more than 5-10 hours per week).How to Apply: If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity, please submit your resume and a brief cover letter explaining your relevant experience and why you are passionate about supporting transgender rights.
