Header: Responsibilities
Develop and write CNC programs for multi-axis machines, including CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and 5-axis CNC machines, utilizing CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD.
Interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics, ensuring precise understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards for accurate part production.
Set up machining tools and fixtures, including tooling selection and calibration for optimal performance on CNC machines.
Program CNC machinery using Fanuc controls or other compatible systems to produce complex parts with tight tolerances.
Conduct precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part quality against specifications.
Optimize machining processes through lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and enhance overall productivity.
Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling wear, or machine calibration to maintain consistent quality output.
Header: Skills
Proficiency in CNC programming languages and control systems such as Fanuc controls.
Strong knowledge of CAD software including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and CATIA for engineering design and schematic interpretation.
Experience with CAM software for toolpath generation and machining simulation.
Skilled in blueprint reading with a solid understanding of GD&T standards for mechanical blueprint interpretation.
Mechanical knowledge related to metal machining processes like milling, turning on CNC lathes, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and 5-axis CNC machining.
Ability to set up machining tools accurately and perform precision measurement using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
Knowledge of schematics, geometry concepts, and engineering CAD design practices essential for effective programming and troubleshooting.
