Job Description:Title: Payroll SpecialistIndustry: Healthcare & HospitalsLocation: Phoenix, AZSetting: Onsite during training period, then almost fully remoteCompensation: $65k - $74k + 2 weeks PTO + 401k matching (3% match)This role specifically, offers the opportunity to start out within payroll and then quickly move into other areas of accounting or HR, depending on which path you would prefer. Overview:A growing, multi-entity organization is seeking a Payroll & Accounting Specialist to support an expanding employee population across multiple states. This role owns end‑to‑end payroll processing while partnering closely with Accounting and people leaders to ensure accurate compensation, benefits, and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess bi‑weekly payroll for multiple legal entities, supporting continued growth and expansionAdminister payroll-related benefits, including HSA contributions, reimbursements, and garnishmentsMaintain payroll for employees across several U.S. states, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulationsPartner with payroll service providers to resolve issues and stay current on regulatory requirementsManage employee pay changes, bonuses, and updates to compensation or organizational structureSupport new hire onboarding, including payroll setup, benefits enrollment, and 401(k) administrationServe as the primary contact for payroll-related questions and employee inquiriesPrepare payroll data and reporting to support leadership and internal stakeholdersAssist with month-end tasks and support Accounting with AP/AR activities as neededHelp build scalable payroll processes, reporting structures, and data segmentationSupport interim and annual audit requests related to payroll and compensationAdditional Scope & ComplexityPayroll schedules may vary by employee group and locationOngoing review and processing of compensation updates tied to employment agreementsAdministration of bonus programs with multiple payroll touchpointsHigh-volume employee inquiries related to benefits and reimbursementsQualificationsExperience processing multi-state payroll in a growing organizationFamiliarity working with third-party payroll providersStrong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential informationComfortable partnering cross-functionally with HR, Accounting, and leadershipExperience supporting audits or compliance reviews preferred
