The academy isdesigned to help students improve some essential skills and focus their careergoals at an accelerated pace, so they can be fully prepared for success in theprestigious Tri-C/Warrensville Heights High School Early College programstarting in the fall. The program runs every day from June 1 through July 2,from 8:30-2:00. Each day, students will be bussed to the Eastern Campus,where they will sharpen English and math skills with Tri-C faculty. They'llalso learn more about habits and practices of successful college students, suchas good time management and note-taking skills. They will also engage in careerexploration activities including career counseling, reflective writing andother hands-on activities.Weneed someone to help us keep up with the scholars in the Rising Stars Academy,especially on days when we travel to other campuses. We expect 12-20 studentsthis summer, which is a lot for the Program Director to manage on their own. Wealso need help making sure that students complete their work during theallotted time, and they will need some guidance and assistance to do so.Generally,this person will serve as a point of contact for the students and the ProgramDirector, providing whatever support is needed in the moment. An intern is alsoneeded to provide tutoring support in the math sessions.Time permitting, we would also welcome this person to join us at the orientation event to be held on May 28.Qualifications:Must be currently enrolled as a Tri-C studentMust be 18 years or olderThis is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, with the following Set Rate of Pay: $15.45/ hour.Special Note: If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure.Special Instructions to Applicants: During the application process, you may be required to attach a cover letter and/or resume.
