Purchasing & Planning Intern

Internship OpportunityThe Intern will be working with the Purchasing and Planning teams on a combination of tactical purchasing assignments, planning/scheduling assignments, and strategic sourcing projects. Additionally, the intern will work closely with the team to assist with corporate objectives identified for 2026 completion. Duties and Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Purchasing and Planning teams to provide support for tactical purchasing and planning responsibilities as needed. Perform planning / scheduling / capacity activities related to a paint subcontractor. Under the guidance of a mentor, research and recommend alternative suppliers for key parts/commodities that are currently single-sourced or for the purpose of identifying cost savings. Research and provide information to the organization regarding alternative suppliers and market insights for the assigned parts/commodities, to assist stakeholder community in evaluating sourcing opportunities. Other responsibilities relevant to specific projects may be assigned. Interact with vendors to collect data, negotiate prices and problem solve discrepancies. Qualification:Required Pursuing a bachelor's degree or master's in supply chain, business, or related field. GPA 3.0 or higher. Strong math and data analytical skills. Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Detail oriented, good planning, organizational, and multi-tasking skills. Desired ERP system knowledge Additional Information:Location Waukesha, WI | 7:30am 4:30pm CST Mon-Fri - other hours may be considered. No Travel Required. The position is an onsite office-based role in our Waukesha facility, with a traditional office and professional setting. There may be some exposure or walks to the production/manufacturing environment which may include some factory noise; appropriate PPE must be worn at all times while on the production floor.
