Project Engineer

Job Title: Project Engineer Company: Modern Ice Equipment & Supply Location: Cincinnati, OH 45248 Job Type: Full-TimePosition SummaryModern Ice Equipment & Supply is seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing engineering designs and project management from inception to installation and startup for ice production, conveying, and packaging operations. You will work closely with customers, outside sales teams, and strategic vendors to manage multiple projects, including equipment replacement, plant expansions, and new greenfield site developments across the US and internationally.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess customer needs and technical drawings to determine project requirements and feasibility.Create detailed project layouts and preliminary design proposals with innovative solutions.Collaborate with various departments to identify opportunities and solutions based on customer feedback.Prepare comprehensive proposal documentation, showcasing technical specifications and design intricacies.Interact directly with customers to address inquiries and resolve design-related challenges.Manage project logistics, including ordering equipment, scheduling activities, and overseeing installation, startup, and training.Select and oversee contractors to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and timelines.Engage with vendors to discuss and evaluate parts supplied for company use.Participate in engineering and design reviews to enhance project outcomes.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (strongly preferred).Three or more years of relevant experience in project engineering or project management.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Effective communication and teamwork abilities.Refrigeration experience is a plus but not required.Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to rent vehicles.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, CAD, or other relevant design software.Preferred Skills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and organizational skills.Ability to apply logical or scientific principles to diverse problems.Experience in food manufacturing, packaging systems, controls engineering, or construction management is preferred.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentAbility to travel approximately 25%, with potential for more frequent trips.Conduct site visits and technical assessments.Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift 15 pounds occasionally.What We OfferCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.401(k) retirement plan with company match.Generous paid time off.Company-paid life and disability insurance.Non-Discrimination PolicyModern Ice Equipment & Supply is an equal-opportunity employer.
