Sr Instructional Designer
We are seeking 4 Senior Instructional Program Designers with an expertise in training facilitation and delivery to complement our Training & Development team. These roles will work within Ohio (2), Pennsylvania (1), and Indiana (1) Training Centers and support both our trainer development and instructional design programs.Job SummaryThis role is responsible for defining, implementing, and sustaining the learning strategies for NiSource Gas and Electric Operations. Partners with line of business stakeholders and leadership to identify, project, and prioritize organizational competency needs. Develops and drives learning initiatives to meet business priorities. Drives continuous improvement through data-based decisions and processes.Essential FunctionsDefines and drives alignment to business and strategic priorities through long-term forecasting and risk-based prioritization.Defines and drives continuous improvement initiatives to ensure training development and delivery processes are effective, efficient, and in alignment with organizational goals.Collaborates with business partners at all levels to identify organizational competence needs and creates, implement, and monitor effective training strategies.Develops, mentors, and supports Training Department staff to strengthen instructional quality, technical expertise, and alignment with organizational learning standards.Sets training development and delivery standards and best practices through industry relationships and align consistency across states.Monitors training and business competence indicators and metrics to provide data-based decision models to prioritize learning and process improvement initiatives.Creates, implements, and maintains processes to align competency and training requirements to business level work plans, resourcing, and qualification requirements.Leads teams to analyze, design, and develop key training initiatives.Evaluates, hires, supervises, and manages appropriate internal and contract resources to implement and sustain key training initiatives.Tracks and manages development and maintenance budgets (actuals/forecast) to ensure projects are prioritized to business needs.Researches and stays current with best practices in adult learning methods by participating in industry and learning benchmarking and conferences.Required Qualifications For PositionBachelor's Degree in Instructional Program Design, Education, Leadership Development, Organization Development or equivalent combination of education, training and experienceAdvanced level experience in training facilitation and development for both classroom and eLearning environmentsKnowledge and extensive past use of a broad range of learning strategies and technologiesWorking knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial report designExcellent analytical and troubleshooting skillsExcellent written and oral communication skills that include the ability to communicate sensitive, confidential, or complex informationStrong collaboration and management skillsAbility to work well across all levels of an organizationExcellent computer skills, including Excel and other software applicationsAn ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to travel.
