User Experience Designer Apprentice
About the programThis is a 12-month, full-time, paid official U.S. Dept of Labor registered apprenticeship program designed for early-career designers who want hands-on experience, mentorship, and an opportunity to grow into a full UX design professional. You'll be embedded in our product design team, working on live projects from day one and pair with a dedicated senior designer, join critiques, and design real features that actually ship to customers. ResponsibilitiesAssist in conducting user research: interviews, surveys, contextual inquiry, and analytics reviewCreate and iterate low-fidelity concepts, interactive prototypes, and refined UI mockupsParticipate in design reviews presenting features, defending design decisions and rationaleSupport usability testing sessions, synthesize findings, and present actionable recommendationsCollaborate with product designers, developers, and engineers throughout full product lifecycleDocument design decisions and maintain organized, accessible project filesGradually take ownership of small-to-medium design features under senior guidanceQualificationsBachelors degree in any field or equivalent work experienceGenuine interest in design, technology, and how people think, behave and interact with digital productsA genuine interest in UX/product design and desire to build a career in the fieldExposure to design tools (Penpot, Figma, Sketch, or similar) — through coursework or personal projectsStrong communication skills and openness to feedbackPortfolio or personal project(s) that show your design thinking, even if informal (school projects, redesigns, side projects, case studies all count)Ability to commit to the full 12-month programLegal authorization to work in the United StatesProgram structureApprentices dedicate 40-hours a week earning an hourly wage with guaranteed raises tied to skill milestone achievements from on-the-job experiences and technical instruction.
