All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other basis prohibited by law.Essential Job FunctionsTeaches assigned course(s) by delivering appropriate course content to students, preparing course materials and lesson plans, grading student work, providing students with robust feedback in a timely manner, and addressing students' questions and concernsPrepares and maintains course site in the learning management system for dissemination of course materials, assessments, and weekly updating of the grade center in accordance with university requirementsMaintains accurate records of student attendance, academic achievement and performance in accordance with university policies and proceduresDistributes to each student, in each course, via the learning management system, a university-approved syllabus that includes course objectives, texts, attendance policy and materials required for course and evaluation criteriaCommunicates early with the student, department chair, and academic counselor for any student in danger of failure or in need of individual counseling, using appropriate university systemsRefers students to appropriate university sources for information, guidance, financial assistance, career services, library services, academic support, accessibility services, counseling, and other support servicesPopulates the university's faculty information system with data to establish teaching credentials and maintains data, as neededAttends faculty orientation and meetings, as requested by the collegePerforms other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsMinimum of a master's degree in nutrition, biology or a related field of study from a regionally accredited institution, or other appropriate accreditation as determined by Johnson & Wales UniversityEvidence of innovative teaching experienceSuccessful candidates must be committed to working effectively with a diverse student populationPreferred QualificationsExperience teaching at the university levelPlease Note: Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Providence Campus location upon hire.College/university transcripts are required prior to hire.By applying to this posting, you are entering an applicant pool for adjunct faculty, which will be hired on an as needed basis for the academic year.
