Nurse Practitioner (FNP or WHNP)

OVERVIEW:The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) serves as a primary care provider delivering comprehensive healthcare services to patients across the lifespan. This role emphasizes wellness, disease prevention, patient education, and the delivery of high-quality, culturally responsive care.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planningTriage patients to distinguish between urgent and non-urgent care needsCollaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams on complex patient casesOrder and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory testing, electrocardiograms (EKGs), and imaging studies such as X-raysPerform minor outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including IUD and Nexplanon placement/removalPrescribe medications, treatment regimens, and other therapeutic interventions in accordance with clinical guidelines and scope of practiceEducate and counsel patients regarding preventive care, disease management, treatment adherence, and healthy lifestyle practicesCommunicate test results, follow-up recommendations, and care instructions to patients in a timely and compassionate mannerMaintain accurate, timely, and high-quality clinical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) systemParticipate in clinical meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and required compliance trainingsComplete continuing medical education (CME) requirements necessary to maintain licensure and certificationsDemonstrate flexibility and collaboration by supporting other departments and programs, including Behavioral Health and Mobile Health services, as neededParticipate in limited on-call responsibilities, as assignedProvide education and training support to medical assistants and clinical staff when appropriatePerform other duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from an accredited programActive Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of IllinoisCurrent Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in IllinoisBoard certification through:ANCC or AANPCB for Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), orNCC for Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP)Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationActive Illinois Controlled Substance License and DEA registrationProficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other computer-based applicationsStrong organizational, critical thinking, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectivelyAbility to make sound, objective decisions while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and integritySelf-motivated and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively and respectfully with patients, families, colleagues, and community partnersPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Illinois Full Practice Authority (APN-FPA) authorization preferred or eligibility to obtainMinimum of one (1) year of clinical experience preferredBilingual or multilingual candidates strongly preferred (Spanish, Arabic, and/or English)PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT:Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionallyAbility to assist patients with mobility and transfers, as neededAbility to sit or stand for extended periods of timeCORE COMPETENCIES:Clinical Assessment and Patient CareCommunication and Patient EducationCultural Competence and Compassionate CareClinical Decision-Making and Critical ThinkingCare Coordination and CollaborationProfessionalism and Ethical PracticeAdaptability and Community Health EngagementBENIFITS:Up to $1500 in professional development fundsMedical, Dental, Vision Flexible Spending Account (FSA)401(K)Vacation, Sick, and Personal daysCMEPaid Parental LeaveLife and Disability InsuranceIMAN is an Equal Employment Opportunity ("EEO") Employer.
