Our client offers more than 25 years of stability within the commercial insurance industry, with more than $8 Billion in annual written premiums.This is a field role dedicated to new business in the greater Philadelphia area. As such, this individual should possess an entrepreneurial mindset along with deep technical expertise and agency relationships. The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced field underwriter with the propensity to write new business, targeting accounts with premiums of +$100k within standard commercial lines (Property, GL, Auto, Package, and Umbrella).This is a phenomenal opportunity for a self-driven individual to take ownership of their book and leverage agency relationships while working closely on cross-selling efforts with the small business team.About the RoleThe Senior Production Underwriter will manage and grow a profitable book of commercial lines business in the greater Philadelphia area. This role focuses primarily on underwriting new middle‑market accounts, developing strong agency relationships, and executing territory‑specific marketing strategies alongside a dedicated sales team. Travel within your dedicated territory is required however you’ll have ownership of your calendar.Write a profitable book of new business within the Middle Market space through strong risk analysis, pricing discipline, marketing initiatives, and responsive servicing.Collaborate closely with internal colleagues and sales teams to share insights into market conditions, technical issues, and agency relationships.Leverage your agency relationships and build upon our agency plant.Coach agents on underwriting appetite, protocols, and best practices in alignment with corporate training standards.Ensure compliance with state filings, corporate underwriting guidelines, and pricing standards.Operate within assigned underwriting authority and make referrals to senior underwriting teams as appropriate.Develop and execute marketing and pipeline strategies with key distribution partners to support financial and growth objectives.Participate in industry events, including agency meetings and association conventions.Provide timely, professional communication to agents, policyholders, and internal teams to support business retention and new business opportunities.QualificationsBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.5+ years of commercial lines P&C underwriting experience.Demonstrated expertise in Commercial Lines underwriting, Middle Market experience strongly preferred.Strong understanding of Property, Liability, Auto, and Umbrella exposures.Proven negotiation and marketing skills.Ability to travel within the assigned territory and to the home office as needed.Professional designations such as CPCU or CIC are preferred.Coleman Search Group has been dedicated to the insurance industry since 2009, offering more than 40 years of inhouse industry knowledge and expertise.
