Before/After School Coordinator
DutiesProgram Management:Plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate educational, recreational, and enrichment activities for children before and after school.Supervise children during before and after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being.Develop and maintain a structured schedule, including time for academic support, physical activities, arts and crafts, and recreational games.Supervision and Staff Management:Supervise, mentor, and support a team of program assistants or volunteers.Develop and maintain a schedule to fully staff the program and coordinate subs as-needed.Assign tasks and responsibilities to staff and ensure that they are carrying them out effectively.Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss program updates, staff performance, and any issues that may arise.Communication and Parent Interaction:Act as the main point of contact for parents regarding the before/after school program.Maintain positive and professional relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their children's activities and well-being.Address parent concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring high satisfaction with the program.Provide a welcoming environment where children feel valued, safe, and engaged.Administrative Tasks:Keep accurate records of attendance, incidents, and any important communications related to children and staff.Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring that everything is in good working order.Assist with registration and enrollment for the program.Health and Safety:Ensure that children follow proper health and safety protocols, including emergency drills, hygiene practices, and nutrition standards.Administer basic first aid when necessary.Enforce rules and policies for behavior, promoting positive discipline and conflict resolution techniques.Other Duties: Administration may assign other duties to the Before/After School Coordinator.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework preferred).Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting, preferably in a before/after school program.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff.Knowledge of child development and best practices for managing groups of children.CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).Salary/Benefits* Salary commensurate with experience and qualificationsAdditional NotesHourlyState and school required trainingsWork year to be established by the BoardHow to ApplyInterested candidates should submit:Letter of interestResumeParaprofessional Educator LicenseThree professional referencesSubmit application materials to:Jason Wilt, Principal, jwilt@osd17.comEmail Addressjwilt@osd17.comSchool Districthttp://ohiocommunityschooldistricts.com/ILearn LinkILearnReport Card LinkDistrict Report CardJob Posting Date4/22/2026Start Date8/10/2026
