Job DescriptionJob TitleSenior Backend Engineer – Java Spring Boot & Cloud MicroservicesOverview / SummaryJoin the CVDE Vehicle Feature Monitoring engineering team, a self-service platform enabling Feature System Engineering teams to ingest vehicle feature domain knowledge. The platform operates at the intersection of connected vehicles, cloud services, and feature engineering, delivering intelligent vehicle interaction and actionable usage and performance insights.In this role, you will work on modern cloud-native applications, building Java Spring Boot microservices deployed in containerized environments on Google Cloud. Engineers own systems end-to-end, from architecture and development through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on reliability, maintainability, and developer productivity.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop backend services by designing and implementing Java Spring Boot microservices and APIsBuild scalable cloud systems using Docker and cloud platforms such as Google CloudImprove quality, maintainability, performance, and reliability through testing, code reviews, monitoring, and observabilityOwn systems in production, including participation in incident response and on-call rotationCollaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to deliver solutionsMentor team members, share knowledge, and contribute to engineering standards and architectureEnhance developer productivity using modern tools, including AI-assisted tools like GitHub Copilot and Google GeminiRequired QualificationsMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar field6+ years of professional software engineering experienceStrong programming skills in Java (Spring Boot) and Python (Flask, Django, or FastAPI)Experience designing and implementing backend services or APIsExperience with relational databases such as PostgreSQLExperience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Experience with containerized applications using Docker or similar technologiesStrong collaboration skills and ability to work across teamsCustomer-focused mindset with ability to translate product needs into technical solutionsExperience building full-stack applications using React and Java/Spring BootExperience designing APIs and service interfaces (RESTful or GraphQL) and familiarity with event-driven or event-sourced architecturesExperience deploying containerized workloads to Google Cloud Run or Kubernetes-based platformsExperience improving observability using metrics, logging, and distributed tracingAbility to debug production issues across multiple services and system layersExperience building or integrating AI/ML-powered features, including applications using Large Language Models (LLMs)What Makes HTC A Great Place To Build Your FutureHTC Global Services wants you to join our team.
