Come be a part of MACOM and help advance the next generation of connectivity infrastructure!Semiconductor Assembler 2This role is responsible for the manual assembly of mechanical and electronic components, subassemblies, and finished products in a manufacturing environment. The assembler will perform precision assembly operations, board mounting, enclosure assembly, testing, and final packaging while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, 6S workplace standards, and production requirements. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work under magnification using microscopes, and adherence to established manufacturing procedures.ResponsibilitiesWork under direction and from production schedules, manufacturing procedures, process plans, engineering drawings, and written or oral instructions.Perform manual assembly of components and subassemblies using hand tools, fixtures, and assembly aids in accordance with established work instructions.Assemble mechanical assemblies, housings, shells, covers, and other product components to specified workmanship standards.Perform board mounting operations using press equipment and related tooling to securely install printed circuit boards and components into assemblies.Install and secure covers, lids, hardware, and fasteners as part of the final assembly process.Complete shell assembly operations, including fitting, alignment, and attachment of mechanical components and enclosures.Utilize microscopes, magnification equipment, and precision measuring tools to inspect and assemble small components.Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to verify proper assembly, fit, form, and function of components and assemblies.Perform leak testing of assembled products using prescribed test equipment and procedures to ensure compliance with product specifications.Identify and report assembly, material, process, and quality issues to supervisors or engineering personnel.Complete production documentation and maintain accurate assembly and test records.Perform final packaging of finished products in accordance with customer, quality, and shipping requirements.Follow all safety, quality, ESD, and manufacturing procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work area.Adhere to 6S policies and guidelines to support a safe, efficient, and organized manufacturing environment.Support cross-training initiatives and perform various assembly and manufacturing operations as required.Experience And EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, electronics assembly, or a related production environment preferred.Experience with manual assembly, press-fit operations, mechanical assembly, board mounting, leak testing, and final product assembly preferred.Physical Environment and Working ConditionsManufacturing environment requiring frequent use of hand tools, fixtures, assembly equipment, and microscopes.Ability to handle small parts and perform repetitive assembly tasks requiring fine motor skills.Extended periods of sitting, standing, or working under magnification may be required.Standing, lifting, bending, and manual dexterity required throughout the workday.Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.EEO:MACOM is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a diverse workforce.
