SOUS CHEF Step Up as a Sous Chef at Parlay Detroit! At Parlay Detroit, we’re searching for a Sous Chef who’s ready to bring their leadership skills and culinary expertise to the big leagues. As the right-hand to our Executive Chef, you’ll be key in driving our kitchen’s success, especially in a high-volume environment where we can see up to 300 turns per night. We need someone who can lead the team, manage the details, and still be a team player on and off the line. Key Plays: Be a leader who inspires and supports our kitchen crew! Always keep our fans (guests) top of mind and ensure they get the best experience. Lead by example with strong culinary skills and the ability to mentor and develop others. Job Responsibilities: Leadership and Team Management: Assist the Executive Chef in leading the kitchen team, ensuring that every member is performing at their best. This includes mentoring junior chefs, coordinating the line, and stepping in to support during service. High-Volume Service: Manage the kitchen during service, ensuring that dishes are prepared efficiently and up to our high standards, especially during peak times with up to 300 covers per night. Menu Execution: Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to Parlay Detroit’s standardized recipes and plated beautifully. Inventory Management: Take charge of ordering supplies, managing inventory levels, and conducting monthly inventory reports to ensure we’re always stocked and within budget. Cost Control: Monitor food costs and work closely with the Executive Chef to meet budgetary goals. Quality Control: Ensure that every dish meets our quality standards for taste, presentation, and portion size. Communication: Maintain clear communication with the Executive Chef, kitchen staff, and front-of-house team to ensure smooth operations. Safety and Sanitation: Ensure that all kitchen operations comply with safety and sanitation guidelines. Reports and Documentation: Assist in preparing monthly reports on inventory, food costs, and kitchen performance.
