Maintenance Tech I-Entry Level
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician 1 (MT1) is an entry-level skilled maintenance role responsible for performing routine maintenance and minor repairs within the ConRAC facility. This position provides hands-on experience and skill development in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and facility operations. Under the guidance of the designated supervisor, this role focuses on preventative maintenance, basic repairs, vendor coordination, inventory management, emergency response, and supporting operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license with no major infractions
Physical ability to lift 65 pounds, stand for extended periods, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and operate in varying indoor/outdoor conditions
Availability to work on-call rotations, including weekends, holidays, and emergency operations
Over one plus (1+) years of verifiable maintenance or repair technician experience, or an upcoming graduate (or graduate) from a vocational/trade/technical school
Basic troubleshooting and repair skills in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Ability to safely operate power tools, hand tools, pressure washing and maintenance equipment
Preferred:
Experience with preventative maintenance practices
Experience with low and high voltage (3 Phase) electrical
Proficient in use of voltage and TDS meters along with similar diagnostic tools
Ability to read and understand electrical and plumbing blueprints
Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and problem-solving skills
Strong understanding of safety management principles and relevant local, state, and federal regulations
A/B Operator Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Proficient in use of both PC and mobile computer applications (i.e., CMMS, direct messaging, relational databases, spreadsheets, word processing, etc.)
Experience with water softening, reverse osmosis, and reclaimed water supply and filtration systems
Work Schedule & Travel Requirements
Participation in an on-call rotation for after-hours maintenance needs
Availability to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and emergency operations as needed
This role may require travel up to 10%, including both planned and short-notice travel, to attend training activities or to provide support coverage at other work locations as needed
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Preventative Maintenance & Facility Inspections
Plan, prioritize, and perform preventative maintenance and repairs in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and facility standards
Conduct routine facility inspections to ensure all equipment and systems remain operational
Assist in carwash system maintenance, including troubleshooting and minor repairs
Maintain vacuum turbines and filtration systems, ensuring proper functionality
F. Facility Maintenance & Minor Repairs
Support plumbing system maintenance, including minor repairs and preventative servicing
Perform high dusting and cleaning of light fixtures, overhead structures, and facility interiors
Assist in gate and door maintenance, ensuring safety and functionality
Fuel System Maintenance & Spill Prevention
Conduct monthly visual inspections of the fuel system, replacing dispenser hanging hardware as needed
Be available to meet fuel carriers for fuel deliveries when required
Perform weekly cleaning of fuel drop remote fill “Spill Buckets” and complete monthly spill bucket inspections
Stock and maintain spill cabinets with absorbents and emergency supplies
Resource & Inventory Management
Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, ensuring adequate stock levels
Assist in tracking expenditures and cost estimates for equipment and supply procurement
Work with management to coordinate vendor services and contracts for facility maintenance
Compliance & Safety
Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards
Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance schedules
Participate in training sessions on workplace safety and regulatory compliance
Investigate maintenance-related complaints and recommend corrective actions
Ensure safe operation of forklift and scissor lift equipment
Landscaping & Inclement Weather Maintenance
Conduct seasonal snow plowing, salting, and ice removal to ensure facility safety
Be responsible for maintaining and repairing snow and ice removal equipment as needed
Assist in storm cleanup and emergency weather response as needed
Emergency & On-Call Response
Respond to facility emergencies, including urgent repairs and safety concerns during assigned on-call shifts
Assist senior technicians in fuel system, vacuum, and carwash inspections and maintenance
Be available to receive fuel deliveries and respond to maintenance-related emergencies
Support emergency operations and facility coverage during holidays and inclement weather events
Training & Professional Development
Train alongside senior Maintenance Technicians (II & III) and management to develop advanced repair skills
Participate in professional development programs to expand technical expertise
Stay informed of industry advancements in maintenance technology and safety practices
Collaboration & Customer Service
Work closely with the Facility Manager and senior technicians to ensure maintenance tasks align with operational needs.
Act as a liaison between MVI, vendors, and Rental Car Company (RAC) representatives, fostering positive working relationships
Assist in investigating maintenance-related complaints and recommending corrective action
