Join Our Growing Team at JMortonJMorton Planning & Landscape Architecture is seeking a motivated and experienced Land Planner / Project Manager to join our collaborative and fast-paced team.This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys managing complex projects, working with clients and government agencies, and contributing to meaningful projects throughout Palm Beach County and surrounding areas.At JMorton, we combine small-firm personal attention with large-firm capabilities, providing strategic land planning, zoning expertise, and thoughtful design solutions for both public and private sector clients.Position OverviewThe Land Planner / Project Manager participates in all aspects of the entitlement and development review process while maintaining project schedules, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring high-quality deliverables.The ideal candidate will have experience working with both municipal/public sector clients and private developer clients, including navigating municipal review processes and presenting projects before public officials, elected officials, review boards, and neighborhood groups.This role requires strong technical writing, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.Key ResponsibilitiesResearch land development regulations, comprehensive plans, and zoning codesPrepare applications for various land use and development approvalsWrite and edit technical reports, including: o Justification Statements o Comprehensive Plan Amendments o Text Amendments o Due diligence and zoning analysis reportsCoordinate and manage project schedules and deadlinesDevelop presentation materials for: o Public hearings o Neighborhood meetings o Client presentationsAttend morning and/or evening meetings with: o Clients o County and municipal staff o Consultants o Project teamsCoordinate municipal review comments and approval processesWork with both public sector and private development clientsEnsure plans and documents meet applicable land use and zoning requirementsAssist with presentations and representation before public officials, elected officials, and review boardsMaintain organized project files, schedules, meeting notes, and communication recordsParticipate in company events and ongoing professional developmentIdentify and proactively address comments or outstanding obstacles to maintain project schedules.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Urban & Regional Planning or related fieldApproximately 3–6 years of planning experience working under a Project Manager, Director, or similar leadership roleDemonstrated ability to read and interpret land development regulations and zoning codesExperience with entitlement and municipal review processesFamiliarity with Palm Beach County and surrounding municipalities preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilitiesAbility to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectivelyProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop and/or Bluebeam experience is a plusWhat We’re Looking ForWe are looking for someone who is:Professional and dependableOrganized and detail-orientedEmbrace TechnologyProactive and solution-focusedCollaborative and team-orientedComfortable interacting with clients, consultants, and government staffInterested in long-term professional growth and leadership developmentEmbraces technology and innovationCompensationSalary is commensurate with experience.To ApplyPlease submit:ResumeCover LetterNo phone calls please.Candidates only — no recruiters.
