Matrix Providers is seeking a qualified Psychiatric Technician to become an integral part of our exceptional team in Oceanside, CA.Job OverviewAs a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a vital role in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients, facilitating assessments, and delivering patient education to promote a safe and supportive environment for those in your care.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients.Perform basic assessment procedures, including standardized psychological testing and clinical interviews.Identify mental health and nursing diagnoses while providing educational support to patients.Observe, monitor, document, and report patient progress.Facilitate group and individual counseling, therapeutic community activities, and other related interventions.Implement precautionary measures to prevent patient harm or self-injury.Provide assistance with patients' nutritional, hygiene, and comfort needs.Obtain and record vital signs accurately.Collaborate with other agencies for comprehensive care and treatment coordination.Maintain accurate records and reports pertaining to specialty services.Assist in the care of individuals experiencing acute stress reactions, including post-traumatic stress.Prepare and maintain treatment records in accordance with best practices.Required SkillsProficient interpersonal and communication skills.Competence in conducting assessments and evaluations.Familiarity with mental health diagnoses and treatment strategies.Understanding of group and individual counseling techniques.Ability to observe and report effectively on patient progress.Collaborative approach to teamwork and coordination with external agencies.QualificationsCertificate from an accredited Psychiatric Technician Program or equivalent educational experience.Minimum of one year of experience as a Psychiatric Technician following graduation.Career Growth OpportunitiesAt Matrix Providers, we are committed to your professional development.
