OverviewMorty's Tap & Grille is currently hiring full-time Kitchen Manager.Morty's Tap & Grille is your locally owned neighborhood restaurant. We want to be the go-to place for great food and great service whether you live on Spokane's south side or not.Our Staff provides exceptional service to all ages; from kids to seniors and everyone in-between. The team knows how to work together. They are fun and unique individuals. They take pride in what they do, from the front of the house to the back of the house.Morty's features breakfast, lunch and dinner. We take pride in the food and beverages we serve, the service we provide and the atmosphere we create.WagePay range for position: $22.00 to $26.00 per hourPay range for position: $67,725.00 to $69,000.00 per yearResponsibilities/DutiesFollow all policies and proceduresOn time and attend all meetingsEnsure proper receiving, storage, and rotation of products to comply with set standardsMinimize waste and maximize thorough usage of food through careful ordering, proper and well-organized storage, and use of recipesMeet financial goals, such as but not limited to revenue, labor cost and COGS Manage inventory, waste logs, prep lists and order guides with accuracy and on-time submission\Control food costs by training kitchen staff on the proper methods of food preparation and handlingCoach, guide, develop and support the staff to provide an exceptional dining experienceEstablish goals for the kitchen, anticipate and resolve problems concerning all facets of the kitchenConduct regular inspections of the entire kitchen and promptly act to correct deficiencies found during inspectionMaintain effective working relationship with vendorsLead progressive discipline of staff membersInterview and select new staffConduct annual performance reviews for all staffManage staff environment and provide timely response to staff needsBe knowledgeable with troubleshooting restaurant equipment issues to avoid the use of external technicians when necessaryFollow uniform and hygiene standardsEnsure sanitation and food safety procedures, regulations and laws are strictly followedEnsure a safe working environment to reduce the risk of incident, injury and food handling related issue*Please note, job duties are subject to change at the company's discretion.Skills/ExperienceWashington State Food Worker Card (WSFWC)Certified Food Protection Manager certification preferredThree (3) years minimum in a kitchen management positionWilling to work a flexible schedule and weekendsStrong work ethic, reliable, aware of the detailsPersonable and enjoy leading a diverse teamPassion for food and hospitality is preferredProven leadership and motivational skillsDisplay a professional appearance and is a positive role model within the restaurantStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent guest relations skillsHigh guest satisfaction expectations and focusBasic computer knowledge (Microsoft) and office skills requiredRestaurant 365 knowledge a plusAbility to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to lift 50+ poundsBenefits:Health, Dental and Vision Insurance (for eligible full-time employees)In lieu of paid sick leave we offer Paid Personal Time Off (PTO)Earn 1 hour PTO for every 40 hours workedBonus potentialDirect DepositFree employee shift mealsFriends & Family Meal DiscountsLeadership opportunities & career growthMorty's Tap & Grille embraces diversity and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), national origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, age, membership in an employee organization, retaliation, parental status, military service or other non-merit factor.
