Transportation Analyst (Entry Level)

New Graduates with supply chain/manufacturing/related education and/or newer talent is highly encouraged to apply.Our client, a leader in the paper manufacturing industry, is seeking a high-energy Transportation Analyst to serve as the "air traffic controller" for their Wisconsin mill operations.This role works closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance teams to help ensure efficient freight movement, inventory flow, and alignment with production schedules. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a fast-paced transportation and logistics environment.The position offers strong exposure to transportation strategy, carrier coordination, inventory planning, and operational analytics while supporting On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance and cost-control initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Transportation Planning & CoordinationSupport daily transportation planning for inbound raw materials and outbound finished goodsCoordinate shipments with carriers, vendors, and internal operations teamsAssist in identifying cost-effective transportation methods while maintaining service levelsHelp support OTIF delivery performance across transportation operationsLoad Planning & Systems SupportAssist with shipment load planning within ERP and transportation systemsMonitor purchase orders and sales orders from planning through deliveryMaintain transportation schedules, reporting, and shipment documentationData Analysis & Operational SupportMonitor shipment activity, inventory movement, and production schedulesAnalyze transportation and logistics data to identify trends and improvement opportunitiesSupport operational decision-making during supply or production changesAssist with freight cost tracking and reportingInventory & Logistics CoordinationPartner with operations and warehouse teams to support inventory flow across facilitiesAssist with inventory positioning and transportation scheduling to support production demandsHelp coordinate inventory transitions and material movement activitiesYard & Transportation OperationsSupport trailer scheduling, dock coordination, and yard communication activitiesAssist with carrier issue resolution and shipment trackingHelp ensure transportation activities align with operational and safety expectationsCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Customer Service, and Finance teamsSupport reporting and communication related to transportation and logistics performanceParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on service, cost, and operational efficiencyWhat You Bring:1–3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or operations supportExperience in manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or transportation environments preferredInternship or early-career supply chain experience consideredTechnical SkillsExcel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysisExperience with ERP, TMS, or WMS systems preferredSAP exposure is a plus, but not requiredEducationBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Finance, or related field preferredEquivalent relevant experience may also be considered
