Production Operator

Job Summary:  The production operator will be responsible for following SOP’s (standard operating procedures) to ensure the highest quality production of our aluminum sheet. Operators will operate heavy equipment to transfer scrap aluminum, ingots, or coils to the appropriate location. Operators will also operate various mills to support the different processes of aluminum manufacturing. Operators will qualify for various jobs in each APU (Autonomous Production Unit) to cross train within assigned area.Manufacturing area opportunities: Element 13, Casthouse, Hot rolling, Cold Rolling and Sheet FinishingResponsibilities:Adhere to all safety procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions immediatelyOperate mobile equipment and machine operations to support the APU’s process and proceduresMaintain a clean and safe work environmentAbility to multitask, pay attention to detail and precision and have good, effective communicationPerform other general tasks as assigned by managementQualifications: High school diploma or equivalent1-3 Years Of Manufacturing Experience PreferredMust be able to pass a basic skills assessment (Reading comprehension, Math, Inspection and measuring and Monitoring/Problem solving)Must be 18 years of age or older and legally authorized to work in the United StatesAbility to lift 50 poundsExcellent attendance and safety recordMust be willing to work in a tobacco-free environmentMust be able to work a 3-2-2 schedule that includes every other weekend, holidays, and overtimeAble to work 12-hour shifts (No Shift Rotation) *New employees should anticipate being assigned to night shift, with opportunity to bid on different shifts after initial training periodMust be able to work in a factory/manufacturing environment with exposure to heat/cold conditionsAll offers are contingent upon successfully completing pre-placement testing (background screen, drug screen and physical)About Constellium: Constellium Muscle Shoals is an aluminum manufacturing plant based in Alabama with over 1,200 employees.
