IT Systems Engineer III (Senior)Location: Washington, DCWork AuthorizationEmployment Type: Full-Time / ContractOverviewWe are seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to support infrastructure, cloud environments, and compliance-driven system operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform systems engineering and administration across on-prem and cloud environmentsManage Microsoft 365 / Entra ID, including MFA and conditional accessEvaluate and improve IT architecture and configurationsEnsure compliance with FISMA and NIST requirementsImplement STIG baselines and security configurationsManage patching, updates, and vulnerability remediationInstall and maintain servers, storage, and network systemsDevelop disaster recovery and backup strategiesSupport security tools such as EDR and compliance baselinesMaintain system documentation and SOPsQualificationsBachelor s degree in IT or related field10+ years of systems engineering experienceStrong experience with Azure, M365, and hybrid environmentsKnowledge of federal compliance frameworks (FISMA, NIST)Experience with PowerShell and automationPreferred CertificationsMicrosoft Certified: Azure Administrator / ArchitectSecurity+ or equivalent
