Processor Equipment Operator
Job Description: This position will help Markit! execute various forestry projects and be responsible for assisting in the proper maintenance, preparation and operation of all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and heavy machinery. This position will report to and work closely with the Project Foreman and Superintendent.Location: Projects may be located throughout the State of Arizona and surrounding states.Travel: 50-75% but may be up to 100% depending on the project assignment. Employees must provide their own housing.Duties & Responsibilities:Operate Markit!’s log processor - Tigercat 822 fully self-leveling processor with a 568 dangle head processing headResponsible for completing and submitting proper daily inspections and maintenance on assigned machine(s), requesting any necessary repairs/maintenance from the Fleet DepartmentAdhere to Markit!’s safety standards and promote safety culture among crew members, including the proper use of machinery and equipment and resolve problems when they ariseParticipate in weekly job site maintenance training conducted by the ForemanPerform equipment repairs/maintenanceGeneral forestry labor, as necessary and appropriateRequirements:3 or more years of experience in a log processor18 years of age or olderMust possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving recordMust pass pre-employment background checkAbility to work in a team and independentlyExcellent communication skillsHave the ability and desire to perform strenuous outdoor work on rough terrain in a variety of inclement weather conditionsQuick and able learner with strong leadership skills and a keen eye for details and good decision-making and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a production focused, high paced team environmentAbility to work under pressure and stress and handle emergency situationsEffectively complete work projects on timeAbility to utilize safety proceduresPhysical ability to bend, squat and lift up to 50 poundsTechnical skills and ability to use a smart phone and/or tabletLanguage:English requiredBi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plusJob Type:Full-time, year-round work with minimal down daysBenefits:Competitive wages, based on experienceAnnual reviewsHealth insurance including medical, dental and visionSupplementary insurance including life, short and long term insurancePaid holidays, vacation and personal timeRetirement with company matchCompany provided training for career advancementMarkit!
