This is a technical ownership position. You'll lead a ground-up website redesign, architect customer-facing e-commerce capabilities, and own the broader web application ecosystem, including integrations across ERP, DAM, and other enterprise systems.If you've led platforms like this before and want to own something that truly matters, this is worth your time.What You'll DoPlatform Ownership & ArchitectureServe as the technical owner and primary decision-maker for the web application ecosystemLead the full redesign and modernization of the public-facing website and customer experienceEstablish development standards, maintain architectural documentation, and shape the technical roadmapDesign scalable, secure, and maintainable systems aligned with long-term business goalsE-Commerce & Customer ExperienceArchitect and build e-commerce functionality including product catalog, configurators, cart, and checkoutDeliver high-quality, responsive, and performant user experiences across devicesPartner closely with UX and business stakeholders to execute on customer-facing solutions Integration & Data SystemsDesign and maintain integrations across enterprise systems including Oracle ERP, WMS, CRM, EDI, API, and DAMBuild and support RESTful APIs, data models, and database structuresEnsure data integrity, transaction reliability, and error handling across systems Engineering LeadershipProvide technical leadership and mentorship to other developersReview code and enforce standards for quality, security, and performanceOwn CI/CD pipelines and development lifecycle best practicesProvide estimation, feasibility analysis, and solution design guidance Performance, Security & ReliabilityDefine and execute performance optimization strategies, including load testingEnforce secure coding practices and ensure compliance with data privacy standardsBuild systems that are stable, scalable, and built to last What We're Looking For Core Requirements5+ years of web development experience (front-end and/or full-stack)Experience in a technical leadership or ownership roleStrong hands-on expertise in:Ruby on RailsJavaScript / modern front-end frameworksREST APIsSQL and database designExperience integrating with ERP systems (Oracle preferred)Solid understanding of data integration patterns and system architecture Nice to HaveExperience building e-commerce platforms or product configuratorsBackground in manufacturing or distribution environmentsFamiliarity with pricing models, order workflows, and catalog systemsExperience with EDI integrationsExposure to AWS or modern cloud environmentsKnowledge of payment processing and secure transactions How You WorkComfortable operating at the intersection of business and technologyStrong problem-solver who can own challenges end-to-endClear communicator - in code, documentation, and collaborationThrives in a cross-functional, evolving environmentTakes pride in building systems that are scalable, clean, and durable Why This RoleTrue ownership of a company's digital platform - not a ticket queueOpportunity to lead a major digital transformation initiativeDirect impact on a global customer experienceWork alongside leadership, UX, and business stakeholdersStable, established company investing heavily in modern capabilitiesLong-term growth as the platform and team expand About the Client Our client is an established manufacturer and distributor with a global customer base and a reputation built on quality and reliability.
