Hennepin County District Court invites qualified applicants for one Court Operations Supervisor position in the Downtown Minneapolis Criminal Division.The Court Operations Supervisor leads the day-to-day operations of the Criminal Division: planning, supervising and reviewing the functions and daily operations of personnel; establishing workloads and schedules; analyzing and streamlining work processes; assisting in the development of strategic goals and overseeing implementation at the divisional level; and working with the public, judges, court staff, partnering criminal justice departments and county or state agencies to ensure that records are processed in a timely and accurate manner that is consistent with the Court's mission and vision.Example of DutiesDelegate workloads and schedules using teamwork strategies to achieve divisional and organizational objectivesSelect, coach, mentor, direct, and evaluate the performance of staff according to set standards and expectations; act as an effective role model to staff in all areas; assist in developing orientation, training programs, and reference documentation for employeesImplement and monitor compliance of both new and revised policies and procedures, as well as the processing of all legal documents in the divisionOversee all case processing and recommend improvements to ensure time standards, statutory guidelines, and case updating standards of the court are metUtilize collaborative communication techniques to respond to and manage day-to-day issues brought by judicial officers, staff, customers, and related county and/or state agencies; answer inquiries relative to the policy, practice, and procedures of the courtMaintain court records and statistical reportsTypical QualificationsMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentTwo years of experience as a supervisor, Court Clerk Leadworker, Court Operations Specialist, Court Operations Associate, or equivalent work in a court, legal setting, or other fast-paced, high-volume, and technology-dependent environmentAccess to a reliable internet connection is required when working remotelyPreferred QualificationsParalegal, Associate, or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related fieldExperience working in the Hennepin County Criminal DivisionGeneral understanding of principles and practices of court proceedings, applicable statutes and rules, and records managementKnowledge and experience working with electronic filing (eFile and eService) the Minnesota Case Management System (MNCIS), SharePoint, Application Extender (AX), and other eCourt technologiesKnowledge and/or experience of effective supervisory and management techniques including team building and planning and/or supervising the work of othersExperience researching and analyzing problems, putting effective changes into practice, measuring performance and ensuring complianceMinimum Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to train, motivate, coach, and supervise support personnelAbility to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others as a team memberSkilled in critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution, and excellent customer serviceAbility to be self-directed, organized, adaptable, and work independently with minimal direct supervisionAbility to analyze problems, put effective changes into practice, and ensure complianceConsiderable knowledge and experience planning and implementing projects, initiatives, and tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environmentAbility to express ideas concisely and clearly, both orally and in writingSupplemental InformationLogisticsThe Criminal Downtown Division teams are located in downtown Minneapolis:* Hennepin County Government Center: 300 South 6th Street, C-1153 (eleventh floor)* Public Safety Facility: 401 South 4th Street, Suite 134 (first floor)This position will be located at the Hennepin County Government Center but will provide backup to and collaboration with the Public Safety Facility, with reassignment or location rotation at the discretion of the Court Operations Manager. The core hours for this position are 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, but may vary depending on the assignment and operational needs within the Division. This position works on-site with occasional flexibility to work remotely, which may change depending on business needs.Salary RangeThe expected starting salary minimum is $34.40.
