Job Title: Sustaining Reliability Engineering Technician Location: Normal, Illinois, United States of America, 61761 Duration: Contract 6 months Role Summary:As a Sustaining Reliability Laboratory Technician - Battery working at client Normal Illinois test facility, you’ll work with the Sustaining Reliability team to build, maintain, and operate laboratories for testing automotive battery packs, electrified powertrain systems, electric vehicle systems and component reliability.Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with test engineers to install, configure, and maintain test properties across a variety of complex powertrain test equipmentExecute tests effectively that results in minimal test equipment downtimeTroubleshoot test failures and report findings to test engineersProactively complete highest priority tasks while tests are ongoingFabricate test fixtures and instrumentation using a variety of materials.Disassemble/reassemble production and prototype hardwareProvide guidance to engineersCreate electronic standard operating procedures (SOPs)Train other team members to perform procedures in standardized formatPerform routine maintenance on test equipmentDevelop a clean, organized, and efficient working environmentMaintain a clean, organized, and efficient working environmentAttend daily stand-up and team meetings on-timeDocument daily work electronicallyMust work in a team environment and communicate with engineers and fellow techniciansPossess excellent time management skillsMust be dependable to work scheduled hoursWillingness to work off-shifts when requiredQualifications:Must have domain knowledge:Knowledge of equipment for laboratory testing (Associates degree in a technology field or relevant experience or 2+ years tech experience)Knowledge of instrumentation and data collectionProficiency with hand and power toolsProficiency with computersProficiency in writing clear standard operating proceduresWorkplace safety conceptsBonus:Knowledge of low voltage electronicsKnowledge of High-Voltage Battery systemsPossesses High-Voltage Battery certificationsKnowledge of reliability testingFamiliarity with test cellsProficiency in operating forklifts and cranes
