Middlesex County Stem Charter School Middlesex County STEM Charter School (MCSCS) is a public school serving grades Kindergarten through 8th grades and open to all students who reside in the City of Perth Amboy. The school is free to all students and families and is a replication of the Central Jersey College Prep Charter School, a recipient of the 2016 Blue-Ribbon Award and other prestigious awards. The mission of the Middlesex County STEM Charter School is to provide rigorous science, technology, engineering, and math curricula in a diverse and nurturing environment to spark students' interest at an early age in STEM careers. School Custodian/Handyman Responsibilities include: Perform regular upkeep, including painting, minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs across school facilities. Install and repair fixtures, equipment, doors, locks, windows, and classroom furniture. Ensure the proper operation of HVAC systems and perform preventative maintenance on building equipment. Assist licensed professionals (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) with large-scale projects and seasonal work. Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment. Handle the timely and regular transportation of food services (breakfast and lunch) between school buildings. Secure buildings and facilities at the conclusion of assigned tasks. Following all district safety protocols, OSHA standards, and Board policies. Operate district vehicles and equipment safely in the course of duties. Respond to emergency repairs and weather-related duties, including snow removal and storm preparation. Maintain accurate logs of work orders, completed repairs, and materials used. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations. Minimum requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 2 years of experience in building, facility, and ground maintenance Ability to perform physical labor, lift heavy objects, and work in varying weather conditions. Valid NJ driver's license Must be able to communicate effectively in English; Spanish is a plus.
