CDL A Truck Driver

AMC MSM, a division of Patrick Industries, is seeking a great CDL A candidate for Local deliveries with at least 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience. This position will report to our Shipping Manager and may work between 40 - 50 hours a week depending on workload, no weekends (potential option of weekend OT if available and desired). Our drivers typically start their day at 5:00 AM and may return from their final delivery at a variable time between 1:30 - 3:00 PM. Job Requirements: Good MVR. 2 years previous good commercial driving experience DOT drug test, and physical must be completed upon hire. Positive attitude—drivers are one of our only customer-facing positions! Requires you to be outside in various weather conditions. Operates a semi-truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws. Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations. Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions to Shipping Supervisor/Manager. Essential Job Functions--up to but not limited to the following: Safe transport of material to and from local customers (Approx. 30 – 50-mile radius), and at various times up to 240 miles depending on customer. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally, courteously with customers, and staff at delivery points. Ability to remain focused in busy environment. Ability to secure product to rack truck, van, and conestoga trailers via ratchet-straps--product will be pre-loaded by the Shipping Department forklift team. Daily truck/trailer inspections Ensure invoices are signed. Verify load to packing slip on delivery route. Perform other duties as assigned. Must have great attendance. Education and Experience: Must hold required commercial driver’s license appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated. Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time. Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds at a time. Must be able to travel frequently.
