STS Technical Services is hiring A&P Line Maintenance Mechanics in Schiller Park, Illinois (ORD). This is a full-time, hands-on role supporting aircraft maintenance operations in a line maintenance environment.Position OverviewThe Aircraft Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing various maintenance functions on company aircraft in accordance with company policies, procedures, and all applicable federal aviation regulations.Job DetailsJob Title: Aircraft Maintenance TechnicianDepartment: Line MaintenanceReports To: Lead Aircraft Maintenance TechnicianLocation: Schiller Park, Illinois (ORD)Position Type: Regular Full-Time | Manual LaborKey ResponsibilitiesPerform and assist approved work by leads within the scheduled shiftEnsure completeness of all assigned work documents and recordsSeek on-the-job training during work shifts to maintain qualification standardsCoordinate all activities with lead mechanic or station supervisorResearch all pertinent information and materials for scheduled aircraft workAssist in the clean up of maintenance work areasMaintain maintenance areas in accordance with housekeeping standardsMaintain tool control accountability and report lost or found tools immediatelyPerform required data entriesPerform other duties as assignedComply with MEL, CDL, and NEF program proceduresMonitor completion of aircraft records including logbooks, work cards, and engineering documentsEnsure accuracy and completeness of all maintenance documentationMaintain required training per AMTM guidelines prior to performing dutiesFollow all approved procedures without deviation unless authorizedMust be able to pass a 10-year background check and location-specific requirementsMust be able to obtain an Airport SIDA badge and U.S. Customs seal if requiredQualificationsFAA-certificated mechanic with Airframe, Powerplant, or both ratings (required)Recommended two (2) years of experience performing maintenance on:Boeing 747-400Boeing 777F / 777-300Or similar aircraft typesExperience may include:Maintenance checksEngine changesGear changesStructural repairsFlight control riggingComponent maintenanceCompletion of an accredited A&P mechanic training course may be consideredMust obtain Engine Run / Taxi qualification when requested by management (if applicable)Must demonstrate company core values: Safety, Respect, Trust, Collaboration, Value, and Passion Language SkillsAbility to read, write, and understand EnglishAbility to write reports and correspondenceAbility to communicate effectively with team membersPhysical RequirementsAbility to perform strenuous physical workOccasionally lift objects over 100 lbs.Frequently lift objects over 50 lbs.Reasonable accommodations may be provided where applicableWork EnvironmentWork may be performed in office, hangar, shop, or open-air line maintenance environmentsExposure to outdoor elements and varying conditionsAbout STS Technical ServicesSTS Technical Services is a Top 100 Staffing Firm that partners with leading aerospace, manufacturing, defense, and industrial organizations.
