Benefits and Claims Coordinator

Position Summary:The Benefits and Claims Coordinator is responsible for administering and supporting the company’s risk management programs, including Workers’ Compensation (WC), General Liability (GL), and Auto Liability claims. This role manages the full lifecycle of claims—from initial reporting through resolution—while supporting safety initiatives, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional HR operations. The position also provides backup support for benefits administration.Key Responsibilities:Claims Management & AdministrationReport, track, and manage all WC, GL, and Auto claims from inception through closureServe as primary liaison with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, adjusters, and legal counselMonitor claim progress, ensure timely follow-up, and advocate for appropriate and cost-effective resolutionsReview and reconcile medical bills, invoices, and claim-related expenses for accuracyMaintain detailed and accurate claim files and documentationIncident Investigation & Risk AnalysisConduct thorough incident investigations, including interviews and site reviewsGather and preserve evidence, including photos, statements, and relevant documentationComplete Root Cause Analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actionsIdentify trends and recurring risk exposures and report findings to leadershipSafety Program SupportAssist in the development and coordination of safety meetings and training programsPartner with operations leaders to promote a culture of safety and accountabilitySupport implementation of corrective actions and track completionMaintain safety records and documentationRegulatory ComplianceMaintain and manage OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logsEnsure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirementsAssist with audits, inspections, and compliance-related inquiriesReporting & Data ManagementPrepare regular reports on claims activity, loss trends, and key risk metricsAnalyze data to support decision-making and continuous improvement effortsMaintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive informationBenefits Administration Support (Backup Role)Cross-trained to support benefits administration functionsProvide coverage during absences, including employee inquiries, enrollments, and coordination with vendorsAssist with benefits-related communications as neededAdditional ResponsibilitiesSupport return-to-work and modified duty programsCoordinate with internal departments to ensure timely reporting of incidentsPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred2–5 years of experience in risk management, claims administration, HR, or a related field preferred but not necessaryKnowledge of Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, and Auto claims processesFamiliarity with OSHA regulations and reporting requirementsStrong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsHigh attention to detail and strong organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with claims management systems a plus
