Our Gas Systems are the cornerstone of our business, specializing in complex, build-to-order equipment including pressure vessels, heat transfer systems, and integrated process skids. Our team thrives at the intersection of engineering and manufacturing, designing innovative systems while staying closely connected to the shop floor to ensure everything we create is practical, manufacturable, and reliable in the field. The OpportunityWe are seeking a hands-on Project Engineer to join our Engineered Systems team. This role is ideal for a mechanically focused engineer who enjoys owning projects from concept through commissioning and working closely with fabrication teams to bring designs to life. You will lead the engineering execution of custom systems like defining equipment, selecting and sizing components, and ensuring designs meet customer specifications, safety requirements, and real-world manufacturing constraints. This is not a purely theoretical or desk-based role. Success here requires a practical mindset: balancing precision with progress, solving problems in real time, and collaborating across engineering, production, and sales to deliver high-quality systems on schedule.ResponsibilitiesDefine system designs and engineering deliverables based on sales contracts and customer specificationsDevelop and manage engineering design plans, schedules, and deliverables across the full project lifecycleSelect and size key mechanical components such as valves, blowers, pumps, heat exchangers, and flow systemsTranslate conceptual designs into manufacturable solutions in collaboration with designers and fabrication teamsReview and redline fabrication drawings including weldments, piping layouts, and assembly drawingsDevelop P&IDs, BOMs, manuals, test plans, and supporting documentationEnsure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, safety requirements)Monitor project progress, identify risks, and maintain alignment with budget and scheduleAct as a technical resource for internal teams, customers, and vendorsSupport factory acceptance testing (FAT) and commissioning activities, including field validation when neededCollaborate with controls engineers to define sequences of operation and ensure proper system integrationAssist the sales team with technical input during proposal and bid phasesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field3 5 years of experience in a Project Engineer or similar roe within a manufacturing or OEM environmentStrong mechanical design background with hands-on experience in industrial systemsProven ability to size and specify mechanical components (valves, blowers, heat exchangers, fluid systems, etc.)Familiarity with pressure vessel design and applicable codes (ASME preferred)Working knowledge of industrial controls concepts (PLC systems, wiring, communication protocols)Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft ExcelHands-on mechanical aptitude.
