Psychiatrist

The Psychiatrist specializes behavioral health medicine to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a Psychiatrist in this role, you will provide expert psychiatric care with a focus on comprehensive behavioral health management. Responsibilities will include assessing patients, devising treatment plans, implementing therapeutic interventions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalized care.ResponsibilitiesConduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to diagnose mental health conditions and determine appropriate treatment plansDevelop and implement evidence-based treatment strategies, including medication management, psychotherapy, and interventional proceduresUtilize interventional psychiatry techniques such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), IV ketamine therapy, VNS, or other emerging modalities to address treatment-resistant conditionsMonitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress, clinical findings, and changes in psychiatric statusCollaborate with emergency services as neededEducate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptomsMaintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards and best practicesCollaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team healthcare professionals, including advanced practice providers, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other specialistsParticipate in clinical supervision, case conferences, and continuing education to enhance professional development and stay current with advances in psychiatrySupervision and/or collaboration with extendersQualificationsMedical degree (MD or DO) and completion of residency training in psychiatryBoard certification or eligibility in psychiatryValid NY State licensure and DEA registrationExperience in interventional psychiatry techniques preferred (e.g., TMS, ketamine therapy), not requiredStrong diagnostic skills and proficiency in developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plansExcellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively within a teamCommitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and advocating for the mental health needs of patientsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively Working ConditionsMedical office and exam room settingsPossible exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, and other conditions common to clinicFrequent contact with a variety of peopleInvolves standing, sitting, walking, bendingReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions TravelPossible travel between Dent Neurologic Institute sitesPossible travel to conferences, educational events, etc Compensation:The compensation rate noted is base salary, dependent on experienceMost candidates will start within the first quartile of the rangeIncentive opportunity, in addition to relocation reimbursement depending on current locationDENT Patient Philosophy"The basic philosophy of the DENT Neurologic Institute is to show our patients and each other the same respect for human dignity and level of kindness, that we would seek for our own families and loved ones.
