ESY School Nurse
Jenks Public Schools Job DescriptionPosition: ESY School Nurse (RN)Reports To: Director of Student ProgramsQualifications:Hold or be eligible for Oklahoma Standard School Nurse Teacher Certification.Bachelor's degree required.Previous nursing experience preferred.Basic Life Support Certification.Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.Position Goal: To support students in ESY as a healthcare provider and care manager in the school setting.Responsibilities:Provide care of students in the clinic and dispense all medications needed during ESY school hours, as prescribed by protocols.Maintain, update and verify emergency information on all students attending ESY.Maintain daily log of clinic business and submit data, as required.Interpret and carry out Board of Education and Administrative policies and procedures; represent concerns and needs affecting departmental operation to District Administration.Document and report suspected child abuse, as required by law.Consult with school designated physician and/or District Administrator, as needed.Perform all other duties as assigned.Physical Demands:This is an overview intended for compliance with the ADA - it is not an exhaustive list of the duties to be performed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of a specific position.Regular Requirements: Stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods/twist at the neck and trunk/bend at the waist/ stoop, kneel, crouch; lift/move up to 20 pounds; handle objects and tools with hands; repetitive use of fingers and hands.Occasional Requirements: Reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 40 pounds.Visual Requirements: Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.Hearing /Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information.Terms of Employment: June 1, 2026 - June 25, 2026 (as needed)
