Job Description
Summary: We are seeking a Product Development Tech for our Brea, CA facility. This person contributes to the completion of routine technical tasks and develops solutions to routine technical problems of specified scope. Their contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the unit. Duties and Responsibilities: • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering document, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams and schematics) • Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis • Provides completion of technical tasks. • Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. • Helps scope equipment for use and complete qualifications • Works with team to on general lab functions; including calibration, implementation of safety procedures, and routine equipment maintenance • Notifies manager or team lead upon recognition of factors that may affect project • Helps develop prototype processes and test set-ups • Executes designed test protocol and conducts testing • Effectively documents and communicates test results • Handles test samples and chemicals used for conditioning and testing Requirements: Minimum Requirement: Minimum education requirement is high school diploma, experience in a lab environment (corporate or school) or technician experience in a regulated environment for a minimum of 6 years, experience following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team Preferred requirement: Bachelor of Science in a technical area and at least 1 year of experience in a laboratory/R&D setting following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team. Preferred Qualifications and Experience: • Ability to understand and perform designed test procedures • The ability to work effectively in a cross functional group and communicate effectively with the lab team and extended team members • Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope • Proficiency in personal computers • Ability to train lower-level technicians
