Technical Projects Manager – Plastics ManufacturingWe are seeking a Technical Projects Manager to lead manufacturing process execution, operational improvement initiatives, and division-level projects within our Plastic Colorants operationsThis role plays a key part in driving operational efficiency, product quality, and successful project execution across production, quality, maintenance, and technical teams.The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is skilled at moving projects from concept through implementation while maintaining safety, quality, and cost objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Optimization & Operational PerformanceEvaluate and optimize manufacturing processes for masterbatch, pigment dispersions, and colored compoundsMonitor and improve operational KPIs including scrap, downtime, throughput, and production efficiencyLead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issuesMaintain and enforce process documentation, control parameters, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)Project Leadership & ExecutionManage division-level project timelines and track execution progressLead cross-functional project meetings to ensure alignment and accountabilityCoordinate capital improvement initiatives, including equipment installations, upgrades, and plant layout improvementsDrive projects from concept through completion while ensuring operational readinessProduct & Customer InitiativesSupport new product introductions from lab development through full-scale productionCoordinate planning and execution of customer trialsCollaborate with technical, QC, and production teams to ensure successful project outcomesSupport technical sales initiatives and participate in customer visits when neededContinuous ImprovementLead initiatives focused on cost reduction, waste elimination, and process standardizationTrain production teams on process improvements and best practicesPartner with maintenance to improve equipment reliability and performanceCompliance & QualityEnsure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standardsParticipate in internal and customer auditsSupport broader division and company initiatives as neededRequired Skills & QualificationsStrong understanding of extrusion, compounding, or polymer processing operations preferredProven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlinesDemonstrated leadership with a strong ownership and accountability mindsetExcellent problem-solving and decision-making skillsAbility to interpret process flow diagrams and production dataProficiency in Microsoft OfficeFamiliarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools preferredStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departmentsComfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environmentEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Polymer Science, Manufacturing Management, or related field (equivalent experience considered)5+ years of experience in manufacturing or plastics processingExperience leading cross-functional projectsBackground in extrusion, masterbatch production, or industrial maintenance environments preferred
