Commercial Contractor Field Engineer

Loven Contracting is looking for a Field Engineer to assist the Superintendent in directing all aspects of Loven Contracting's commercial general contracting opportunities in the field from beginning to end while adhering to and applying the company safety rules to all activities. Projects include, but are not limited to, healthcare, parks & recreation, civic and public infrastructure, and historical preservation across the scenic Northern Arizona region and throughout the state. Compensation: Amount commensurate with experience. Benefits include but are not limited to full health care benefits for employee (plus spouse and covered children) with premiums paid by the company, 9+ company-paid holidays annually, paid time off/sick leave, profit sharing, pension plan, paid community service hours, and continuing education benefits.Essential functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Regular, consistent, and prompt attendanceEffective verbal and written communication skillsBeing actively engaged and physically present on assigned projectsAbility and willingness to learn to read commercial and residential plans and specifications, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopesExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and complete them as appropriateAbility to maintain working, positive relationships with subcontractors, owners, and co-workersAbility to meet the physical demands of the job as listed belowValid driver's license with good driving record as determined by our insurance company guidelinesAbility to learn project management software and implement it into the daily workflow processPosition Responsibilities:Enforce all Loven safety standards at construction sitesAssist Superintendent with monitoring weekly schedules and maintaining project progress based on that scheduleAssist Superintendent with reviewing project submittals and integrating information while the project is being constructedMaintain existing client relationshipsAssist Superintendent with maintaining a set of as-built drawings referencing the changes and RFIs, both physically and electronicallyCommunicate and coordinate with subcontractors prior to and during the projectAssist Superintendent with coordinating submittals with subcontractorsAssist Superintendent with coordinating with utility companies as a project scope requiresParticipate in closeout requirements as needed including electronic punch lists and as-builtsReview and interpret plans and subcontract scopes of workAssist Superintendent with coordinating with the AHJ and any needed inspections or special inspectionsParticipate in project pre-flight and post-flight meetingsAssist Superintendent with maintaining quality installation to the level of company requirementsAssist Superintendent with being responsible for project dimensioning and conformance with plansContinually access and apply the company safety rules to all activitiesAssist Superintendent with organizing and maintaining material orders per a scheduleAssist Superintendent with coordinating with various designers, other agencies, and utility companies as neededSimultaneous trade partner managementAssist Superintendent with managing daily photos, JHAs, and other project paperwork with proper filing and tracking of documentsWork environment:Majority of time on construction sites, indoors or outdoors based on projectsSome time in office, primarily prior to project start and after project completionPrimarily working with subcontractors and our craft workersDesignated work area for completing paperwork, calls, etc.Some projects based in active healthcare environmentsPhysical Demands:Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at timesMust be able to navigate across uneven terrain when at construction job sitesMust be able to navigate the use of ladders when at construction job sitesMust be able to withstand long hours each day traversing job sitesTravel:Extended stay near project locations may be required to perform these duties for certain projects.
