Environmental Worker II - Driver

A Valid CDL is Required for this position.Provides safe operation of a refuse truck to ensure day-to-day residential customer service needs are met in an efficient, safe and productive manner through collection of all types of refuse by the City of Aberdeen.Minimum Starting Pay is $22.54 / hour. Starting pay may be negotiated based on experience.QUALIFICATIONSMust be able to pass a DOT physical and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class B with proper endorsement)Basic computer skillsHigh school diploma or GEDPrevious experience with trash collection preferred.Ability to operate a Rear Load Trash Truck.RESPONSIBILITIESOperate refuse trucks on specified routes for residential trash, recycling, bulk item, and yard waste collection.Takes waste to landfill, compacting area, or recycling center.Work involves frequent standing, stooping and bending. Also, you must stoop, kneel or crawl when performing certain tasks. Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance, while demonstrating the principals of safe lifting. Demonstrates the applicable safety precautions related to a rear-loaded refuse truck. Incumbent works inside and outside; outside work is performed in all kinds of climatic conditions.
